Oswald R. Viva, CMC

Qualifications:

Oswald's value as consultant and executive coach resides in his extensive and broad experience in all phases of business management, as well as in his formal training and continued education, and in the “common sense” developed through many years of professional life.

During his career in Corporate America he worked in large and small companies and directed organizations and complete ventures in the highest positions.  Oswald has served as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, Acting Chief Financial Officer, Chief Quality Officer, President, Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, General Manager and other lower but responsible positions.  He has served on the Board of Directors of seven companies and participated in eight start-ups. 

In twenty years as Consultant, he has consulted for Fortune 100 and other large companies, and for many small companies throughout the US, Europe, Latin America and the Far East.  Former clients include such companies as IBM, Ampex and Hewlett Packard in the US, Sagem and SGS-Ates in Europe, ELTA, Elcint and Israel Aircraft in Israel, Entel, Telebras and Brazilian Army in South America, Seiko-Epson, Marubun and Hitachi in the Far East, just to name a few of the largest ones. He has also consulted for agencies of the US Government as well as for three allied governments.

Oswald’s corporate experience includes the high technology, manufacturing, retail and service industries.  As a consultant and coach he worked in most of those fields plus several others.  His background includes machine design, development engineering, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing, quality engineering, marketing and sales, business development, international management, administration and general management. 

His education includes degrees in Mechanical Engineering and extensive training in management, business, finance, and personal and organizational development.  He received certification as Certified Professional Consultant to Management (CPCM) from the National Bureau of Certified Consultants. 

Oswald is a Certified TAB Facilitator and Mentor.  He works as consultant and coach of entrepreneurs and leaders of small and midsize companies because this is what he likes to do.  It is his chosen field.

• BA, Political Science with minor in Public Administration from Pepperdine University – 1984

Alex has been successful throughout his career as an independent business person and as a leader of corporate growth in a global environment.  He was a critical component in leading international exposure and growth in 4 fledgling technology companies in the early 90’s to 2001. From there, Alex took on the responsibility of turn-around executive for 2 Fortune 500 companies; increasing worldwide sales and expanding operations globally including building a manufacturing, sales and marketing presence in China.  Early in his career he gained a reputation as having a global vision, helping start-up technology companies build an international presence and setting up foreign companies to be successful in the US market.
As an entrepreneur, Alex has been involved as an owner and partner in starting, growing and profitably selling 3 successful ventures in services and retail industries. His knowledge and experience in managing people, finances, sales and marketing enables him to have a view that is critical to operating a unique and successful business venture.
